Serving women…upholding Life
Care Net Pregnancy Center of the Tanana Valley is a Christian non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been making a difference in Fairbanks and surrounding communities since 1990. Currently helping an average of 100 women per month, the center exists as a Christian response to the problem of abortion. Get a nationwide perspective on the pregnancy center movement in “A Passion to Serve, A Vision for Life,” a report published in 2009.
The reach of abortion is without socio-economic class boundaries and makes no distinction between those in or out of the church.
Abortion in our nation presents a multitude of issues that reach to the depths of the souls of those affected. Care Net Pregnancy Center’s mission statement, ‘Serving women…upholding Life” addresses the following needs: to save unborn children from abortion, to share the Gospel with their parents, to minister to those already hurting from one or more abortions, and to educate and equip youth to postpone sex until marriage, thereby upholding the health and lives of our teens by reducing the teen pregnancy and STD rates. Our dedicated staff and volunteers are the hands of Jesus as HE meets these needs through the following programs:

PATH – Post Abortion Truth for Healing
- PATH is a Bible study facilitated by specially trained volunteers. It is carefully structured to guide women through healing from the emotional and spiritual effects of having had one or more abortions. Be informed! Step Up Now to Healthy Relationships
- Step Up Now is our federally-funded community based abstinence until marriage education program for the teens of our community.
- Strict program guidelines are in complete alignment with Christian principles and values

Funding
The Center is primarily funded through the generosity of individuals, churches, and businesses in our community. We have seen a real funding challenge in 2011! Economic woes and political campaigns have caused a pinch! BUT GOD! He is providing in ways that are so far above ours! One of those ways is through our fundraising banquet. What About Grants?
Grants have been awarded for specific programs and purposes. In most cases grants cannot be used for religious activities. This is NOT A PROBLEM – it just requires excellent bookkeeping/financial management, which is a standard we always adhere to.
